The community of Thembokwezi, as led by Thembokwezi Residents Association have for years fought for our human rights, of access to water. We have since as early as 2000's identified issues with the manner in which water bills have been calculated in our area's of Thembani, Bongweni and Khwezi. Over the years we have made this concern registered with the City of Cape Town, engaged various officials from ward councillors over the years, sub-councill officials, right up to the COCT chambers. We have in recent past been bombarded with the illegal installation of Water Management Devices which were never legally introduced, as there was no public paticipation process by COCT. This has caused a situation where the COCT  contracted agents who use criminal tactics of intimidating residents by forcefully installing these devices invading property while residents not at home to install these illegal not SABS approved devices. We call upon all residents in Thembokwezi and those in support to sign this petition which we will escalate to the various departments for attention. We call upon a united approach across all communities in the City of Cape Town to wage this strugge of water.
