Allow Car Enthusiasts To Enjoy Driving

Allow Car Enthusiasts To Enjoy Driving
The Issue
As many of you know, the Halton police have issued a special project #noisemaker. Well, in full honesty this is the worst way to deal with illegal cars. First off it is placing every car enthusiast into a state of worry, anxiety, and fear. The majority of car enthusiasts out there enjoy working on their cars to help find peace of mind, to help themselves feel happier, or to just enjoy it and have a good time. Nothing about that is against the law, if anything it should be supported by the city, region, and government all together. It helps bring a lot of people into local auto shops and auto parts stores, a business grouping that will not be fading out anytime soon.
The best way the government should be handeling this is to understand that it is more of a safety precaution to have a loud exhaust as it allows other drivers and pedestrians to know when our cars are coming. By attempting to remove this freedom from car enthusiasts it is saying that our hobby is worthless, our time is worthless, and we are worthless. There are more dangerous cars on the road than our custom builds, look at most cars that are out on the road since the 80’s, 90’s, or even early 2000’s. They have more issues and defects than the majority of modified cars and should be pulled off the road and re-safetied. Although the police and government have decided that the car that a 17 year old spent all of their money and time building just to enjoy the art of driving is “unsafe”. This is complete bullshit.
The police and the government have way more important things to be worried about such as correcting the issues around police racism, the virus that has kept everyone home for the past 3 months, and the extreme misuse of our tax dollars. Let the car enthusiasts do what they do best, and focus on the real issues, stop trying to punish kids and young adults for just trying to enjoy life, especially when everything in life is so depressing in these times.
