Auburn West Hills: Parks Not Developments!

Auburn West Hills: Parks Not Developments!
The Issue
A 74-house development no one wants, is planned on a property that contains the last beautiful wooded property in the middle of our overdeveloped neighborhood in the West Hill community of Auburn, WA.
We found out these woods were used for over 60 years as a day camp by Camp Fire, who called them "Tall Timbers". We now have a website for updates at SaveTallTimbers.org.
Meanwhile, the city would have loved to have this property as a park, but missed their chance. They're aware our community is under-served for parks, and even though they have funding, there is a lack of available properties to buy us one.
Read the whole story here: The West Hill Development No One Wants.
There's no bad guys here, but a lack of communication and foresight has led us to this.
We’ve started this petition to gather signatures and show the city that we really, really want this, and it’s good for the city long-term if they could just please figure out how to pay for it!
For this we need to show community support to get city staff on our side.
They may have missed one window, but this land is never going to be as cheap or beautiful as it is today!
At the very least, we hope showing our support for a park and giving this attention will prevent the lack of foresight and communication that led to a potentially tragic loss of wooded potential park-space in our midst!
