Food For Thought has been a family owned cafe operating out of Allen Public Library for almost 10 years. We have unfortunately announced our last month before permanent business closing on March 1st, and will call it a day March 31st in light of recent Allen Public Library expansion plans. The city of Allen has deemed it time to renovate the entirety of the public library, but this little cafe is not included in such venture. We proposed a design plan to have the cafe expanded/renovated, but were turned down due to “not having the budget” for said venture. FFT has provided a service to the library staff, patrons of the library, and events at library, and we believe we have earned our keep as a priority of growth. We believe the people have the decision to make this change, and want to show those that have the power and final decision on what happens to the library to be made aware of what the people would like the FFT to be expanded upon. If expanded, we can maintain longer hours, more days a week, and provide even more variety to our customers than we already do!!!
