We, the undersigned people of the city of Napa, petition to the city of Napa to follow through with our demand to remove the KKK from our riverfront mural. 

We understand that people may argue in the favor to preserve this part of history, but this part of the mural no longer aligns with the values of the people and the city of Napa. It is not a time in history that should define this city and be on display for millions of tourist to see.

This part of the mural is a time in history that does not need to be preserved and should never be repeated. Continuing to allow this part of the mural, and history, to be visibly seen is a form of glorification and is in no way a conducive means of healing for the black community.

We would like to add that there has been a petition in place to remove this horrible display of racism since 2010. The time to take action is NOW.
