I am starting this petition to have the law passed that potbelly pigs are infact pets not livestock in the town of Clark Missouri. This is a small rural town of 250 or less people. Wilbur Bella and Dewey have been members of our family for 1 to 5 years. I have been the only mother they have known. Their quiet, taken care of, and well loved. Before we came to Missouri we had them licensed and vaccinated in Omaha Nebraska with the Nebraska Humane Society as pets. We were told by the mayor himself of Clark Missouri that our pigs were welcomed as long as they were quiet n taken care of. They have never been apart from my husband and I. We dont vacation, travel for long periods of time, nor stray away very long from them. I know my pigs may of gotten out a time or 2 but we have ALWAYS been on the ball with ALL of our animals when it comes to situations.  We have one pig that is disabled and he n my other 2 are backed up and also protected by pig sanctuaries nationwide from Nebraska to Missouri to Texas to Florida and even in Canada.  My pigs are well loved, well cared for, not only by us but by others nationwide.  My pigs and I have this unique bond that is inseparable.  When we got dewey almost 2 yrs ago he was aggressive and fought us every chance he got because he was abused and abandoned 4 different times in his life. I promised him he was home for good when he came to me from the Nebraska Humane Society. Since then he's allowed me to pet him, introduce him to new animals and made him apart of this society. Hes come a long way. Rehoming him and Bella would be the worst thing you could do because that would only reopen the trauma they both endured in their lives before my husband n I. And wilbur you ask? Hes just a lazy lil piggy who enjoys grapes and snacks. They are family to us...NOT FOOD NOR LIVESTOCK!

This is our story.. We had to relocate from Nebraska because of the neighborhood abusing my animals...both pigs n my dog harley..from there we relocated to marceline missouri where my husband n I n our animals were denied water on our property...from marceline..where we were for 5 mths and thousands of dollars later from buying gallons of water from walmart in brookfield and were forced to move off our property to a motel so we could have that water supply for our dogs n pigs.. we now live in Clark where we were told by the Mayor Jamie Dougherty had told my husband n I a month prior to us moving here that our 3 pigs were welcome here as he's got over 20 pigs of his own. The Randolph county sheriff's dept also said as long as my pigs r behaved they don't reinforce the ordinance of only 2 pigs in city limits. Now the police dept of Clark missouri officer Logan Sutherland are hounding me and told me they don't allow pigs in city limits and I have 30 days to rehome them or they'll start citing me. Now google records show that the police dept here was shut down not long ago for harassment of people traveling thru and also on highway. We have lived here and maintained residence here in Clark since oct 2020 with utilities and help from residents all over missouri and other states. I'm not going to relocate again at my expense. My husbands had 4 strokes since September and my animals are showing signs of depression. I'm tired of fighting for my babies survival and their free will to be happy and lead a normal life. Sheriff's dept in marceline also drew their firearms on my 6 month old puppy back in Sept of 2020...I stepped in front of the officers gun n my dog. I will face anything by any means necessary to protect my babies from harm's way. We just want to live a normal healthy happy life for once. The ONLY reason we left my home state of 44 years. To get away from all the violence of neighborhood hoodlums and their animal cruelty behavior.
