Seattle Rideshare Drivers Association Demands
Uber and Lyft Ride Tax Revenues Fund Driver Benefits

We need a Driver Solidarity and Resource Center, run by drivers, for drivers

We, the undersigned rideshare drivers in Washington state, call on the City of Seattle Governor of Washington King County executive, to use at least 50% of any monies raised through taxes or fees on Uber and Lyft rides to go toward a Driver Solidarity and Resource Center, to support the needs of drivers and our families, and to build our voice. During this difficult time many drivers are struggling to meet their needs

Our Driver Solidarity and Resource Center will be run democratically by drivers, to serve drivers’ needs. Drivers will come together to advocate collectively for our rights within the rideshare industry, and to get services that are essential to our survival, including:

Membership meetings and
collective driver advocacy Multilingual

workshops and trainings on rideshare company policies

Rideshare customer service training Advocacy and training to challenge driver deactivation

Voter registrations and voter rights training Immigration and naturalization assistance

Driver family assistance and support services

Counseling and mental healthcare, suicide prevention services

English language training and education Legal referrals and law clinics

Affordable housing assistance

Emergency assistance

Corona virus testing
