Miniature pot bellied pigs are wonderful animals and make great pets. They are highly intelligent, loving, clean, hypoallergenic, great with kids, nonpredatorial, and smaller than larger breeds of dog. They cannot be raised as a food source, their feed is taxable unlike farm hog feed and there are many cities, counties, and states that already recognize them as pets including many different Texas cities and townships in our area. I have been to the animal advisory board many times over the past few years to get this changed all to no avail. Please help me raise awareness that these animals are pets and not to be confused with farm hogs.
