STOP The Confluence!!!
The Issue
City Council Members of Chesapeake,
We are declaring our opposition to "The Confluence," a potential high-density development project in the Grassfield area. We are unified in our position against 292 apartments, 50 townhouses, 202 single family houses, and a Chesapeake Regional Hospital "medical facility" situated on approximately 119 acres known as the Lindsay Farm. We believe a vote of "NO" is necessary to:
1-restore citizen confidence in our City's leadership and validate our desire to protect our chosen lifestyle and quality of life
2-respect the Level of Service Standard for school capacities by not overwhelming Grassfield Elementary School and an already burdened school system
3-validate citizen concerns about the impacts of increased traffic and congestion
4-legitimize citizen statements and concerns about the increased threat of flooding from the Lindsay Canal
5-support current homeowners in the area by considering the impact on the value of their homes
6- protect the historic, hand-made Lindsay Canal recommended for designation on the historical register
7-avert further environmental degradation of the Elizabeth River and its tributaries
We implore you to remember your current constituency and support US by voting "NO" on The Confluence!
