McGill rd in Kamloops has high pedestrian traffic from the Thompson Rivers university, Children’s Therapy Centre, Insight Support service’s ( a school for special needs children), Tournament Capital Centre and various other restaurants and community businesses. Speed, and visibility have been a serious concern for quite some time. On November 15 a community member was struck and killed in a crosswalk on McGill rd. Her death marked the 5th motor vehicle incident related to TRU faculty and students since the beginning of November 2019.

Please push for reduced speed around the university, the Sd73 funded school (Insight Support Services ) to get a school zone and proper crosswalks for all students, and community members. Protect our children, community members, seniors, and university students from preventable accidents. These changes protect both the driver and pedestrians!!  

 Sign this petition to reduce speed add a school zone, increase signage and safer crosswalks. Let’s bring awareness to our city council to help make positives changes.
