Fight a zone change

The Issue

Palm Coast must have an ulterior motive for permitting so many storage facilities.  They are springing up all over Palm Coast.  There is a 165,475 sq ft new one nearly completed on SR-100 , another 99,900 sq ft storage facility approved to be built near WaWa, 70,000 sq ft proposed on Old King's Rd North, a huge RV & boat storage recently approve on Old King's Rd. near Racetrack on 100, another huge 454,766 sq ft RV & boat storage facility proposed on US-1 near Hargrove, and yet another 90,000 sq ft storage unit pending on US-1 north of Palm Coast Pkwy. This is in addition to the many existing storage facilities currently in operation in Palm Coast, 22 according to a web search.  The most recent storage facility application scheduled to go before the City Council on January 4th and 18th is a 95,500 sq ft storage facility on Old King's Rd. This proposal, unlike all of the others, is located directly across from two residential communities of Toscana and Hidden Lakes and is currently zoned OFC-2. The developer is seeking a zone change to Comm-2 and a Special Exception to allow a storage facility in a location it would not normally be permitted. Palm Coast needs a lot of things. Another storage facility is not one of them. Please help us to stop the approval of this zone change and special exception that would allow this greedy developer to change the City's Vision and Comprehensive Plan and hurt the peace and tranquility in our communities. Let's say "No" to Urban Sprawl! Thank you!
