In case you didn’t notice, there is a rezoning request for the property at the corner of Jenkins and Standifer Gap (big yellow sign). Currently, there is a home located on the property. The zoning request is to change the property from residential to commercial so that the individual making the zoning request can build a gas station/convenience store on the property

Yes. A gas station.  And yes, at that busy, busy intersection!

We don’t need another gas station. With a quick search, there are at least 7 gas stations/convenience stores within a two mile radius of this location. There are certainly more than that in the East Brainerd area. 

Besides not needing it, the traffic at this intersection is very congested in the morning and evening. It will be dangerous for any car trying to get in and out in traffic. There will also be an increase in traffic because of deliveries of food, beverages, beer and gasoline. House values in the immediate area will go down. It may also result in more zoning changes for more commercial property in the area. 

If you do not want to see another gas station built on at 2511 Jenkins Road, please sign this petition.
