Governor Cuomo Has Gone Too Far.
Governor Cuomo Has Gone Too Far.
The Issue
During this pandemic, there have been different opinions about how we should react. Some support full-blown precaution for everyone, even if there is not a major health concern for everyone; some support personal, individual choice in our response; others are in the middle.
No matter which approach you support, the government has been making personal choices for us that should be our choices. Again, while some people would agree with this to different extents, other people may think that the government has every right to make all of these decisions. The government does have areas in which it can safely make decisions for part of our response to and for part of our way of handling this pandemic. But Governor Cuomo has certainly stepped out of bounds when he has told every New York State family how many people we can have in OUR homes. This violates personal freedoms and choices and the bonds of family and friends. While the intent may be good, it is not right. This is going way too far and cannot be allowed.
While the world is turned upside-down, riots are breaking loose, history is being destroyed by domestic terrorism, people are getting sick with COVID, people are dying, families are separated, and masks and social distancing cut off personal connections, the best reprieve and small sense of normalcy is time with family in our own homes, especially during the upcoming holidays.
The government will only step further and further out of their bounds than they already have. If you agree, sign your name to regain personal freedom and personal choice during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and the unknown number of upcoming months. If we do not act, nothing will change. Thank God that we live a country where we can change things, but if we want change, we have to take action!
