My name is Cadence Harper. I am the owner of Farm Fairy, LLC in Fauquier County, VA. I am a mother to an incredible 12 year old girl named Melanie.

Several years ago, her father and I lost custody of our daughter to my mother. We have been fighting in Fauquier's family court system ever since. 

A little backstory on my mother and my own childhood: My parents divorced in the early 1990's and a vicious custody battle ensued. Judges, lawyers, guardian ad litems, social workers, and therapists were all the norm when I was a kid. Throw in some brainwashing to instill a false fear of a loving father and you've got textbook attachment-based pathogenic parenting.  It's a difficult thing to wrap your head around, but once you see the pattern, you can't unsee it.

If you have spent any time at all with Melanie, Steven, and myself, then you know what kind of family we are. It's the three of us against a vindictive woman and the same court that robbed me of my own childhood.
