On 01/26/2023 Celina ISD published zoning change proposal which is affecting all the kids of Ownsby Farm who are currently enrolled for year 2022-2023 at Donny ODell Elementary School will experience their first move to Lykins Elementary School for the year of 2023-2024 and the second move to Cambridge Crossing (Elementary #4)  for the year of 2024-onwards. 

Proposed zoning change is causing a definitive hardship to the kids who are going to experience lot of emotional and mental stress. Ofcourse it impacts the parents too with keeping their Kids contented with these adaptive changes and commute!!!  Example 1: A kid who is already enrolled in Donny O'Dell Elementary will be moved twice in coming two consecutive years, which affects kids friendship, bonding with teachers and the school environment. Further, Donny O'Dell Elementary School is right next to our community and due to such reason it is not appropriate to send kids at longer distance with more commute time. 

Per the video shared by Celina ISD https://tinyurl.com/udhaty66 on Slide#10 it mentions "Neighborhood schools keeping neighborhood/subdivisions intact", then why our small community is being moved out of its neighborhood school twice!

This petition urges all Ownsby Farms residents to sign and persuade CISD to understand what is at the stake so they can accomodate our small community and kids to be zoned within the neighbourhood school which is Donny O'Dell Elementary.
