Save Miss Alyssa: Unexpected TERMINATION of our cherished Kindergarten Teacher.

Save Miss Alyssa: Unexpected TERMINATION of our cherished Kindergarten Teacher.
The Issue
A week ago yesterday, October 12th, 2021, our beloved Kindergarten teacher was suspended and unexpectedly withdrawn from her classroom without any warning or explanation to her 22 Kinder students. On the day that they were supposed to dye their Capes of Courage, their beloved teacher was taken from them. She has been teaching at our adored Waldorf school for 7 years and has helped make the transition for students go from learning at home with their families to a full day of kindergarten as loving and unique as possible.
That Friday, October 8th, we received an email from the school that stated the following:
"Dear Kindergarten Families,
We want to acknowledge the disruptions both kindergarten classes experienced in the week leading up to break. We thank you for your patience and support as we navigate this unique time.
Kindergarten is a foundational year. We look forward to gently continuing our work to strengthen your child's foundation when we return from break.
We wish you a healthy and happy Fall Break!
All the Best,
The COS Kindergarten Team"
A few hours later, the teachers aid sent out an email reminding the parents of the fall break that was about to begin and signed the email with BOTH of their names. At this point, all the parents knew was that our treasured teacher was not at school, there was an officer on the property at some point talking to our children, PER OUR KINDERGRTENERS, what is noted in the email above, and the school was closing for fall break and faculty and staff would not return until October 20th.
HOW IS THIS OKAY?
The next morning, the unimaginable happened. We received this email.
"Dear Sunflower Kindergarten Families,
Unfortunately Alyssa Huber will no longer be teaching at Circle of Seasons. We hope everyone understands that we are unable to share details about her departure from our team. We will be moving forward without her. We do wish her the best.
Our team has begun simultaneous efforts to assure that our Sunflower Kindergarten children will remain in caring, joyful hands as we seek our new Kindergarten teacher. Ms. Nikki will be leading the classroom in the interim while we carefully choose our new teacher. Ms. Michelle and Ms. Keptner will be providing guidance along the way. We are putting plans in place to allow our children to say goodbye and to engage in curative stories and experiences that will support healing and change as the class moves forward. We will be sure to keep our families informed of our plans. We look forward to adding a new teacher to our wonderfully creative, dedicated, and caring COS team.
Ms. Allison
(Principal)"
WHAT COULD POSSIBLY HAVE HAPPENED?
At this point, we are questioning EVERYTHING that is surfacing and ban together to get to the bottom of what seems to be ever more chaotic than we had imagined. Parents began to reach out to the board of trustees, all of us with a limited response:
"Hello!
Circle of Seasons is currently on Fall Break. I will return to campus on Wednesday, October 20. I will respond to your email promptly upon my return.
Taren Kobyra
Organizational Assistant Principal"
I then received this response:
"Thank you for your email to the COS Board of Trustees. Neither the Board nor the administration are able to comment on any employment situations.
Sincerely,
Kimberly Heiman
Board of Trustees, President"
WE NEED YOUR HELP!
The Sunflower Classroom is asking for your help. The school’s Mission Statement is:
Circle of Seasons Charter School ignites a love of learning, kindles excitement and discovery, and instills a deep sense of community and service to the greater world. We foster each individual’s creativity, imagination, humanity, and scholarship by cultivating integrated experiences that support students along their developmental journeys, awakening hearts, hands, and minds.
If this petition is successful in providing the community outreach to what has been a whirl wind of emotions, the Sunflower classroom asks for the Board to have a conversation with us about what has transpired with the intention of getting Miss Alyssa reinstated at Sunflower Kindergarten teacher our children and future families.
Ms Alyssa is an integral part of Circle Of Seasons. She is the backbone of the cultivation of our children. She is Circle of Seasons.
These are the facts that we have AS OF NOW.
But we need your help!
