Keep the three unrelated persons rule.

The Issue

In the City of Norman, Oklahoma nearly all neighborhoods operate under a restriction on the number of persons permitted to live together who are not related.  The rule protects neighborhoods from the traffic, parking, and noise problems of 'group houses' that threaten quality of life.

Now and for the past few months, there is a movement by select landlords and their professional advocate to alter or eliminate the restriction on four or more unrelated persons living together in Norman neighborhoods.  Many landlords have advocated that there should be NO restriction of the number of persons living together.  More recently, this group has pushed for an application process to permit altering the rule on a case by case basis.  The application would be approved if neighbors do not act to stop it.

If you believe that reasonable occupancy limitations are important to your neighborhood to prevent parking, trash, and noise concerns --or any other reason you may have, please sign this petition today and tell your Norman City Council to leave the three unrelated persons rule unchanged.
