Citizens United Against the Closure of the Overlook at Eden Park

The Issue

Eden Park has been a fixture in this Community for over 150 Years since 1859. 2 years before the start of the Civil War, and 6 years before the abolition of slavery. The accessibility of this enchanting community area is now under attack By A motion headed by P.G. Sittenfeld under the Guise of public safety. (Motion#20200590 Cincinnati City Council)

In 2008 "the overlook at eden park condos" were built. The residents of this now 12 year old condo, have long complained about traffic noise and motorcyclists.

We are in direct opposition to this motion, And the possibility that the residency of those who chose to move to a public park could at any time now or in the future, prevent access to this area for a large part of the community making it nearly impossible for the elderly, those with disabilities, health conditions, pregnant etc. to utilize and appreciate this public and historic area.

Our goal is to push to keep this place as it was intended; free, open to the public, and have unfettered access for the entire community including those with mobility issues. We ask that you stand with us, your friends, your neighbors, and your colleagues to prevent this abhorrent motion from gaining any more ground.
