Changing unfair CHSAA rules for female high school swimmers

Changing unfair CHSAA rules for female high school swimmers
The Issue
In article 2 of the 2019-2020 NFHS Swimming and Diving Uniform Rules it states “Females shall wear suits that cover the buttocks and breasts.” As young females going through changes and learning to love our bodies, I find it appalling that we will be disqualified and have opportunities taken away from us due to how revealing our bathing suit is. This is discrimination against our bodies, and makes us feel as if we are breaking rules by showing off our bodies. As athletes that are swimmers, a bathing suit is the typical attire, and to decide which suits we can and cannot wear based on how much exposure it has is absolutely unreasonable. We come in all shapes and sizes, and not all females can find suits that cover their buttocks and breasts as CHSAA wishes. This petition is a way for us as female swimmers to express our frustration with this rule, and hopefully change it. Thank you
