As I was heading back from Ooty, I happened to see students making their way across the highway connecting Bengaluru and Mysore to catch a bus. With cars and trucks zooming by at speeds over 80kmph, it's only a matter of time before a student is involved in an accident.

 

As a member of the 2011-2013 graduating class, I witnessed the ordeal my classmate went through. She was struck but managed to survive thanks to a bicycle that was still functional, but she ended up with a broken femur. Despite the injury, she had to continue attending classes using a stretcher, as missing too many days would have been unacceptable.

It's concerning that there hasn't been any initiative to build an overpass or underpass to make it safer for students to cross the road. This petition is a call for all the colleges, both old and new, to unite and pressure the institution to take action.

1. Our goal is to gather as many signatures as possible and present them to the college.
2.  Utilizing our connections, we ensure that the necessary safety measures are put in place.

 We will achieve this before another life is lost, and people will no longer hesitate to take action.
