According to UNICEF, there is an estimation that the Philippines is home to 1.8 million abandoned and neglected children. These kids are abandoned to the streets and other dangerous areas where they, without assistance, must endure a life of deprivation, hunger, violence, beatings, and assaults with minimal opportunity to escape; the place they only seek refuge are orphanages. An orphanage serves as a nurturing environment for children who have lost their parents or are separated from their families. Its main objective is to give these children the love, care, support, and secure environment they need to develop, learn, and thrive in spite of their difficult circumstances. 

However, due to various challenges and limited resources, these orphanages often struggle to meet the growing needs of the children under their care. There are very few orphanages in the Philippines, and not all of them are able to accommodate all of the children. In addition, a number of orphanages are having issues, particularly with funding. These orphanages only rely on the generosity of the people and foundations to help them run their orphanage. Without those, they would not be able to run the orphanages anymore. Therefore, it is our collective responsibility to extend a helping hand and provide them with the necessary support to create a nurturing and empowering environment for these children.

The purpose of this petition, “Children's Oasis: Kalinga sa Kabataan, Kalinga sa Kinabukasan” is to raise awareness about the plight of these children and encourage individuals, businesses, and organizations to contribute to their well-being. We believe that every child deserves a safe and loving environment, access to education, healthcare, and opportunities for personal growth.

By signing this petition, you will be expressing your commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of these children. Your support can come in various forms, such as monetary donations, educational resources, clothing, food supplies, or volunteering your time and skills. There would be assigned volunteers in some areas in Parañaque and all the things that we will accumulate will be checked and packed to ensure the safety of the things that we would provide with.

We can assure you that our organization will be able to give the love and support that you will grant to us and will be able to reach our chosen orphanage, Saint Rita Orphanage, located in Dr. Arcadio Santos Avenue, Parañaque City. The Saint Rita Orphanage has been caring for abandoned and marginalized children whose mission is to create a home for children that envisions total development of less fortunate children so that they become God-fearing and responsible members of society.
