Drop the proposed PUDA Residential Colony in #Fazilka and #SaveBadhaLake

Drop the proposed PUDA Residential Colony in #Fazilka and #SaveBadhaLake

The Issue

The Badha Lake might be lost for ever and more than 500 exotic trees would need to be axed  if  the Punjab Urban Planning and Development Authority (PUDA) illegally goes ahead with the plan to build residential colony in the Eco-Sensitive Zone of Badha Lake Wetland.

The residential colony is being planned without taking any environmental consent from the concerned authorities. The Lake is a source of Fresh water, attracts many migratory birds and depicts the beauty of flora and fauna of Fazilka and one of the last remaining patches of greenery in the region.

Constructing a residential colony here  is not only a violation of building bylaws but also a violation of special recommendations by Disaster Management Group, Government of India.

Sign the petition to Save the Badha Lake by urging the officials to stop going ahead with the construction.
