Upper Westville / Beverly Hills residents are requesting that a New Haven Police satellite location / substation be placed at Davis Street school. We understand that this is only the start of a greater conversation about having more of a police presence in our police district, considering the only police substation is furtherest away from the majority of residents in the actual police district. We believe that this will bring stability to a community that feels it is overlooked, because of the middle/upper class labels placed on the neighborhood. This year, our community has experienced home invasions, shootings, stabbings, car thefts, muggings of long-time residents.

We understand that we are indeed apart of a larger city that has a lack of officers. In the spirit of compromise, we petition that a satellite location be placed where our most precious gifts are taught and the closest place to what is mostly a residential community.
