It is distressing to note that despite lockdown across the state of Bengal and in most parts of India, the tea gardens in Darjeeling and Dooars of Bengal are still functioning and the workers are made to work in large groups.
This is putting the workers, their families, and the community at great health risk.

While the entire world is battling COVID-19 through self-imposed isolation and social distancing, the tea garden workers' health is being callously jeopardized.

We demand that all tea gardens in Darjeeling and Dooars be immediately shut down and the workers be given leave with full wages.
