Sultanpur Lodhi town in Kapurthala district in Punjab Should be  Renamed as  Nanak Nagari after Guru nanak dev ji. Also known previously as 'Sarwmanpur' from  1st century to 6th centuries it was one of the major centers of meditation and knowledge.

Currently  it is named after  Sultan Khan Lodhi who was the General of Mahmoud Ghazni,  the Ruthless Invader who attacked india 17 times,  murdered innocent Indians,  Including women and children,    who plundered India ruthlessly. Its time to Stop remembering,  honouring the invaders of India. 

Guru Nanak Dev ji on the other hand got Enlightenment at this place,  who preached the principles of equality,  tolerance, justice,  humanity kindness for what this town of Sarwanpur was initially founded on.

Sarwanpur was destroyed obliterated by the invaders,  only to be reestablished not founded as per the popular Myth. 

Lets make an effort together and rename the Town of Sultanpur Lodhi as Nanak Nagari in the Honour of Shri Guru Nanak Dev ji on his 550th Guruji's birth anniversary.
