Stop alloting land to Institutions and Yoga university in Jnanabharathi campus. Save Trees
Why this petition matters

Bangalore University Authority and Karnataka state government is alloting land on Green Jnana Bharathi campus for the CBSE's southern centre and for a Yoga university. This is a destructive move and it will result in the axing of more than 9,000 well-grown trees. These trees were planted more than two decades ago which is now considered as a biodiversity park.
Thousands of students and citizens have created the park, After 20 to 25 years of effort, the campus has green cover that is much larger than that of Cubbon Park and Lal Bagh. It is the biggest oxygen bank in the city and more than 5,000 people come for a walk here every day and on weekends the number reaches 7000.
A majority of the grown-up trees are indigenous species that were planted two decades ago systematically. By allotting land to other institutions government and university authorities are converting the biodiversity rich area into a concrete jungle.
Humble request to Government and University authorities, please stop alloting the land to Institutions and Yoga university in Jnanabharathi campus and we are not against any institutions or Yoga University. You can allot the land any where else but not in Jnanabharathi thereby protecting 9000 more trees from being axed.
