Dear  Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy , CM , Andhra Pradesh,

We the people of Krishna District living  allover the world , would like to retain the name of KRISHNA  in the upcoming creation of new districts in Andhra Pradesh .

As you are well aware of the fact that the very name of the district "KRISHNA" was derived from the holy live river "Krishna" which meets sea in our district. The KRISHNA district has been in existence for over 160 years in the name of KRISHNA MANDALAM , which was later split into Guntur and Krishna Districts in 1904 and parts of Krishna district were added to the newly created West Godavari district in 1925 .

We take pride in our rich history  and heritage . Krishna district has played key role in  contributing to Andhra Pradesh and India in many fronts by producing very influential leaders in the fields of Education , Medicine , Music , Dance ,Cinema and of course politicians. 

Krishna district has taken lead in the independence struggle and made lot of sacrifices . Even our National flag was designed by native of Krishna District.

Considering all the facts , we love our new districts to be named as East Krishna ( instead of Machilipatnam) and West Krishna ( instead of Vijayawada)  to retain our legacy and preserve our rich heritage.

Machilipatnam and Vijayawada can continue to be the district headquarters and prosper. We also request to you to continue the assembly constituencies of Nuzividu and Kaikaluru in West & East Krishna districts without adding them to Eluru district.

We hope you will respect our rich heritage  and honor the sentiments of the people of Krishna district and retain the name of our great KRISHNA district in the newly forming districts.
