Request to Abrogate Recently
Enacted Citizenship Amendment Act, 2019
Hon'ble Sir,
With due respect, we would like to draw your kind attention towards discriminatory, arbitrary and unconstitutional nature of Citizenship Amendment Act, 2019 (CAA).
Sir, there is no second opinion that the Citizenship Amendment Act, 2019 (CAA) is complete violation of Article 14 and 15 of our Constitution thus this act is against the Constitution.
While preparing any bill, law makers cannot enact any bill / ordinance contrary to basic fabric of our Constitution. Such attempts have occurred in past also. But our judiciary has taken guard and always shown respect towards Constitution.
Constitution of India ensures justice and equality to all citizens of India irrespective of their caste, creed, colour and religion. The Article 14 of the Constitution deals with equality before law. While the Article 15 declares that the state cannot discriminate between citizens only on the basis of religion, race, caste, sex and also place of birth. Therefore, this Act is unconstitutional.
This discriminatory law directly hurts the solid foundation on which the leaders of independent India have established the Constitution of our great nation. This law on one hand gravely jeopardizes the law and order of the North East States while on the other hand it escalates hatred, discrimination and injustice to a particular community. It has potential to endanger the national solidarity and pluralism.
This is the reason, the peace loving citizens of the country and the students of various universities have stood against this act and are continuously raising their voices for revocation of this discriminatory and unconstitutional act.
Our elders have offered great sacrifices for the freedom of the country. They were hung, imprisoned and tortured for attaining freedom and safeguarding the unity of the country. They strongly opposed two-nation theory and preferred India’s Composite nationhood and Ganga-Jamuni culture over communal division.
The Central government in its power of majority, ruining the ethos of Constitution and leading the country towards anarchy and division.
Therefore, we appeal / request you to abrogate such divisive act in order to protect the foundation of our Constitution and to keep the basic fabric of Constitution intact. The final goal of each and every citizen of India must be solidarity and betterment of India towards development.
