We are gradually approaching 5,000 signatures, which is truly amazing! There has also been fantastic support for our cause in your comments… clearly this issue is a broad concern and we appreciate your thoughtful responses to the proposed development. Also, for locals and visitors to Albany, we have a paper petition (directed to the Council). If you haven’t yet seen this, we’ll have copies outside the Farmers’ Market on the morning of Saturday 27 January. Come down and say hi. The paper petition can also be found on the noticeboard at the Vancouver Store. Your signatures would be much appreciated. Friday 2 February is Word Wetlands Day. For those fortunate enough to live in or to be visiting Albany on that day, we will be holding a guided walk to Lake Vancouver starting at the bird hide track on La Perouse Road, Goode Beach at 10 am. For those who haven’t been there before, continue straight on past the sign which points down to the beach and it’s about 200 metres further on. We’ll also have a stand at the City’s World Wetlands Day event to be held on Saturday 3 February in the Town Square from 9 am to 12 noon. Drop in and see us! Thanks again for your support. Ian
