Make Caroline Springs Police station 24 *7

The issue

The Caroline Springs Police station should be made 24 X 7 to support the growing community need to feel safe and to control the crime spikes in Caroline Springs and other surrounding suburbs in one of the fastest growing council in Victoria. As of now the local police station is not available during after hours and people have to go to other police stations for help during those hours which are far away. We need Victoria Police and the state government to end violence related incidents, vandalism, Burglaries, Hoon driving in our suburbs. Some of the Domestic violence victims have nowhere to go when they need it most. There were situations where Houses got broken in while families at home. More police numbers and patrolling are required so that these crimes can be stopped and criminals can be deterred. Please Sign this petition to make Caroline Springs Police Station 24*7. Currently this Police Station closes at night and, we urgently require a around the clock station in our community. Melton Council has also the one of the highest population increases in the State and projected to grow even more. Let’s make all levels of Governments aware of our community needs. We need to be safe where we live.  Here are few Quotes from Media in past few months (Star weekly) Highlighting shortage of police in the area. http://www.starweekly.com.au/news/victoria-police-accused-of-abandoning-caroline-springs/ “Victoria Police has been accused of abandoning Caroline Springs, where pressure on officers and the community is described as “unreal”.The divvy van based at the Caroline Springs station can spend up to 75 per cent of its time backing up units in other areas or being tied up at hospitals where officers “babysit” ice-affected criminals waiting to see mental health staff” http://www.starweekly.com.au/news/caroline-springs-residents-demand-action-to-end-violence-and-vandalism/ “We no longer feel safe in our homes and even more so outside it. We all demand action as taxpayers, ratepayers [and] law-abiding citizens of the community. The constant feedback from the community  page resounds of the frustrations of residents who don’t feel that the police have the resources or funding to prevent the minority, who are making the community of thousands feel unsafe and are being physically harmed,” “More police officers must “immediately” be deployed to Melton and Caroline Springs if Victoria Police is serious about addressing the findings of a mental health review, according to the police association.”  So let’s get as many signatures as we can and then this Petition and Community views will be presented to State Police Minister and Police Commissioner and Local State Member to get action for us feel safe in our own Homes and in our neighborhood.
