Trayce Thompson has always lived in the spotlight, but also in the shadow of his brother and NBA superstar Klay Thompson. Trayce deserves his own chance to shine and has worked hard for his opportunity with the Chicago White Sox. By benching Trayce Thompson despite his effort, skill, and drive, the Chicago White Sox are insinuating to young fans that hard work and solid results are not rewarded. This is the wrong message to send to such a young demographic that is greatly influenced by its role models in the sports world. It is also a disservice to Trayce himself, and the devoted fans and season ticket payers of the Chicago White Sox. Trayce's .519 batting average, plus speed and defense could contribute to long shot playoff hopes for '15 and more importantly to the goal of developing a young core for 2016 and beyond. We the fans petition the Chicago White Sox to embolden this young man's dream and satisfy the fan base by allowing him to hit against right handed pitchers and not exclusively against lefties so long as to give him a deserved extended look at the big league level.
