For far too long, chess and chess players alike have been silenced and forgotten in their communities. The ancient game played by many intellectually superior athletes has the opportunity to gain the recognition it deserves. Many sports that are in the Olympics require their athletes to have strong muscles. However, the strongest muscle in our bodies is our brains (chess players are jacked too by the way). Chess is a sport which exercises ones brain to the highest degree, therefore it should be included in the Olympic Games. If swimming, a common activity done my most, can be included, why shouldn’t the world most complex and comprehensive sport not be? 
Building a stadium for an Olympic soccer match will cost a fortune. On the contrary, the average chess board only costs $20. If this economic advantage is not enough to persuade humanity, than I don’t know what will. 
Finally, during these unprecedented times, going out and participating in field activities can be very dangers and may be fatal. But chess, unlike any other Olympic sport, can be played virtually and online, making it 100% covid safe.
