The story of the Battle of Rowton Moor is huge in the context of the local and national history of the English Civil War. This battle was for the control of the only port left open to King Charles Ist, Chester during the first English Civil War and the whole county, country and continent watched on in anticipation of the outcome.

The second phase of the battlefield is not recognised or designated and we demand that this changes. We must protect this site for future generations to learn about the story and enjoy it. We also demand that a fit and proper memorial is built with a visitors interpretation centre in order for young and old and local and non local to come and learn about this hugely significant piece of local and national history.

We also demand that a hold is put in place of the current proposed building on the field on Rowton Bridge Road until a thorough survey has been undertaken to identify the second phase of the battle site.
