THE CURRENT DESOLATION OF URBAN MARKETS

The Street hawkers, or urban vendors along the railway stations and bus stands, sitting in roads among the dust and selling vegetables and fruits, are a most common sight we can come across our city.

However, The traditional markets in our cities and towns are also not very different, especially in my place, Chengalpattu, is just an array of shops across both the sides of the street with a merely no proper infrastructure. The structure of their shops are simple polls tied to have a temporary roof and a platform raised by having plastic sheets for base. We have always bothered about the quality of vegetables sold, but its important to start paying attention to this important public place where it is sold. 

Also except for the produce, these vendors sit or stand on mere road with poor sanitations. This whole situation gets alot messier during monsoon seasons. The filthy roads, and there are open drains filled with strom waters running behind their shops. These vendors have no choice but to sit with these.

So as  a Responsible member of this community, we need to take this issue into deeper consideration to think about the future place of our markets which should be ensured a proper structure which benefits both the vendors and public, with a healthy produce and a decent workplace. 

I strongly believe, our cities and towns has enough people who are considerate, about this society. Thereby, not only signing this petition, but also actively taking part in this can only lead to a best future. Please leave your possible comments.
