Bacteria found at the historic Pittville Pump Room may result in the loss of the town's 300-year-old spa status.

At a borough council meeting in June 2023, the councillor responsible for such matters declared that bacteria found at Pittville Pump Room, one of the town's sources of mineral water, may result in the loss of Cheltenham's 300-year-old spa status.
