LeRoi Moore (September 7, 1961 – August 19, 2008), Charlottesville, VA native and saxophonist for Dave Matthews Band is the perfect honorable figure to pay tribute to in the form of a memorial statue at the intersection of Ridge St. & Main St. As one of the most influential musicians in modern popular music, and especially in Charlottesville, LeRoi gave back to the community through his & his bandmates’ charitable contributions with their Bamaworks foundation, aiding many local non-profit organizations and projects which supports the community here.
