Let us continue our Medical Assiting Program
The Issue
We were promised as 10th graders, that when we took our Medical Assisting class, that it would be accredited, and we would be Certified Medical Assistants. After one year of being in the class, and having only one more year to go, we found out a few days ago that they were no longer going to continue our program because of "budget issues". To make matters worse, this is the only class that they are doing this too. We have spent one whole year learning as much as we could to what it means to be in the Medical Field. Thinking we would graduate next year at the CTC, we had taken a series of classes online. Now that we will no longer be in this class, all of our senior classes has practically been chosen for us. We only want to finish what we started, it's sad that in today's society we have to fight for our own education. Dr. Whittaker promised "We are determined to bring all students to a high level of academic achievement and we will continue to be highly successful as a district if we truly work together” if this is the case, then help us fight to keep our Medical Assisting program continuing.
