Demand More Garda Resources for County Meath

Demand More Garda Resources for County Meath
The Issue
I, the undersigned demand more Gardaí resources for County Meath. We need stations reopened, temporary stations open full time and new Garda stations in large urban areas such as Johnstown and Ratoath.
Meath is one of the fastest growing counties in Ireland. Our growing county is starved of the infrastructure we need. Nowhere is this more true than the complete lack of Garda resources provided for Meath.
In Meath we have seen a radical increase in crime and anti-social behaviour. town centres are hammered with drug dealing. Petrol bombs have been thrown at the Courts. Hatchet attacks have happened in the middle of the day. Sexual assault has seen a massive rise.
Restaurants and shops are closing early due to anti-social behaviour. People in rural areas sleeping with knives under their pillows. People walking home at night are being attacked and are ending up in intensive care. Meath has the lowest number of Gardaí per capita in the state and now shockingly Meath is losing the Garda divisional Headquarters.
The Safer Meath Campaign, founded by Peadar Tóibín TD has been formed to fight crime and Anti Social behaviour and increase Garda Resources in County Meath. It is a cross party, cross community campaign where everyone is welcome.
We have met with the Garda Commissioner, the Regional Garda Commisioner, the Chief Superintendent and the head of Garda HR. We have raised the issue in the Dáil, Meath County Council and on the media countless times. We have organised public demonstrations and meetings round the county. We will continue to campaign until we get what we are entitled to in Meath. More Garda resources in County Meath, NOW.
Please share this petition and build momentum.
