Automatic loss of license when being charged with vehicular homicide

Automatic loss of license when being charged with vehicular homicide
The Issue
Hello My name is Kristyn Britton and at the age of 33 I became a widow. My husband Dwayne Williams was killed driving home from work when struck by an Isuzu box truck. “Preliminary investigation has revealed that the Isuzu box truck had just began merging from the breakdown lane, into the first travel lane, in front of the Chevrolet Cruz, at a much lower speed,” state police said in a written statement. “Williams was unable to slow enough without colliding with the box truck.” Dwayne is 1 out of 300 people who were killed in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts due to a fatal car accident. The driver that killed Dwayne was charged with vehicular homicide and currently is driving while awaiting trial. In the Commonwealth of Massachusetts an individual does not automatically lose their license when charged with vehicular homicide until a verdict is given. You do lose your license in the state for a number of reasons some are the following ; 3 speeding tickets, 3 surchargeable events and 3 convictions for not having transparent windows on your motor vehicle, yes tinted windows. But being charged with vehicular homicide is not one! Driving is not a right it is a privilege!
Dwayne Williams will never celebrate another holiday with his family, see his children graduate High school or get married or even pet his dog. Yet the driver who killed him is allowed to do all these things and even drive!
