On Sept 26,2012,Charles Toyer was convicted of murder by a jury in the Lucas County Court of Common Pleas which is in Toledo,Ohio.

The person who passed away was the mother of Toyer's young child who is now a pre-teen.

Toyer never denied being responsible for causing the death of his child's mother.

He admitted in court that they had a very turbulent and emotionally charged relationship.

Though the State was successful at meeting the required elements to convict him of Murder under Ohio's law,Toyer presented evidence at his trial that his girlfriend ....

The Police Reports in the case show that Toyer immediately called 911 at the scene.

The trial transcript also shows that he frantically ran to seek help getting medical attention for his child's mother right after she fell on the knife at his residence on that day.

Toyer is NOT debating that he deserves some type of severe punishment for the precious life that was lost.

He is simply trying to get his charge reduced from Murder to Manslaughter.

The penalty for Murder in Ohio carries a Life tale while the charge of Manslaughter under Ohio Law carries a definite prison term that has a fixed number.

Being very young and ignorant to the law when Toyer was charged,he refused to plead guilty to Manslaughter.

He believed that pleading guilty meant that he was admitting that he had intentionally caused the death of his daughter's mother on purpose.

Only after he was able to research the law in prison did he discover that his assumption was mistaken.
