Southern Rail are cutting the direct services from intermediate stations to and from South Croydon.  We will lose 100+ direct trains a day to and from South Croydon, compared to the existing London Victoria to Caterham route. This service is relied upon by many secondary school pupils and commuters.  We are asking for the new London Victoria to Caterham service to stop at the stations currently served between Clapham Junction and East Croydon.  By removing the stops (Wandsworth, Balham, Streatham Common, Norbury, etc) passengers, some as young as 10 years old, will have to pick their way across South London, via diverse routes, all involving 1 or 2 changes. The existing services are packed full of passengers - from 20 May, they will be tipped out at Clapham Junction and East Croydon, or other stations along the way, depending on the time of day.   Southern Rail - Please now act quickly to reinstate the direct school trains to and from South Croydon - your current plans massively inconvenience hundreds of young people attending the Croydon schools as well as commuters, potentially putting them and other station users in danger.
