Paper based stickers are one of the most horrendous things this market economy and society has ever seen. Paper based stickers are mostly used as price tags but I have seen many times when they have been used as other things such as warning labels and just as normal stickers. The main problem behind paper based stickers is their durability; they have little to no durability. The moment you try to peel them, they rip leaving the part you did not grab still stuck to the object. One seemingly effective way to remove it is to wet them and then scratch them off. This however is disproven when the waterproof adhesive used on the sticker is still on the object and now is on everyone and everything around you, along with the little shreds of paper that were scratched off. Many times I have bought an item with a paper based sticker on it that, to an extent, ruined the product because of the adhesive. This not only affects our livelihoods but also businesses who use them. If they continue to use these dreadful stickers, they will no longer have the monetary support of people like me due to the fact that I will no longer be buying their products. Many people have expressed to me their atrocious encounters with these stickers and how they have greatly affected them. I believe the only solution to this problem is at the governmental level using the law to stop these companies. In order for paper based stickers to be banned at the countrywide scale would be with the support of over half of congress. At this time it seems unlikely that over half of congress will support this so I believe we need to try our absolute best and coordinate with both parties in the senate to make this a possibility. This means that we need the support of majority leader Senator Chuck Schumer and minority leader Senator Mitch McConnell. If we can get this to happen it will better the lives of millions of people including the consumers of businesses and businesses themselves and will not be harmful to anyone.
