Charge every person involved in the Indiana dogfighting ring. Ban them from owning animals
The Issue
On July 29, authorities in Fort Wayne, Indiana, rescued 22 dogs from an alleged dogfighting operation.
The dogs were chained, dehydrated, scarred, and left to suffer in 110-degree heat — some in basements stained with blood, others outside in cages with no water or shelter.
These dogs survived unimaginable cruelty. And yet, they still wagged their tails.
Now it’s time for real justice.
We’re calling on the Fort Wayne Police Department, the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office, and Indiana lawmakers to:
- Pursue full felony charges against every individual involved in this operation — including those who owned, trained, sold, or fought the dogs
- Ban all convicted individuals from ever owning or keeping animals again
- Treat this case as a model for strong, transparent prosecution of animal cruelty across the state
Dogfighting is not a minor offense. It’s violent, organized abuse that inflicts lifelong trauma on animals for profit and entertainment. Indiana law already makes it a felony — now we need to see it enforced with maximum accountability.
These dogs deserve more than a safe place to heal. They deserve to know that the people who hurt them will never be allowed to do it again.
Sign this petition to demand justice for the Fort Wayne 22 — and help make sure no more dogs suffer like they did.
