Baby Sophia Acosta was brutally tortured, sexually abused, and finally murdered at the hands of her mother's boyfriend (allegedly.. have to say that until court is over) Christopher Cheary. Sophia's mother Erika Smith, did nothing to stop it. Family and others made substantial amount of calls to CPS, and the girls had marks on them, one injury resulting in Sophia's baby sister Alexa having a broken leg. Meanwhile, her paternal father Obediah Acosta, had no knowledge of any calls or reports to CPS.. they had been called out repeatedly to the home, but never informed the father. Now Obediah is planning to seek full custody of Alexa with the support of the community and help of his loving family. CPS dropped the ball and these precious angels suffered! As a community, we are outraged that CPS will not hesitate to rip children from the arms of good parents, but in another breath, will leave habitually abused babies in the homes of baby rapists/murderers!!
