As a Muslim living in Chicago, the current lighting of the Willis Tower antenna deeply affects me. The lights are currently lit up in white and blue, colors that symbolize support for Israel. This is particularly distressing given the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict, which has resulted in numerous Palestinian casualties.

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs reported that between May 10 and May 21, 2021 alone, there were at least 256 Palestinians killed by Israeli forces. This includes at least 66 children. These numbers represent not just statistics but lives lost - families torn apart.

By lighting up the Willis Tower antenna with green and red - colors representative of Palestine - we can show our solidarity with those suffering under oppression. It's a small gesture that sends a powerful message: We stand with Palestine.

This isn't about taking sides; it's about recognizing humanity and standing against violence. It's about showing our support to those who are suffering greatly from this conflict.
