Every year students spend well over $100,000 on University parking passes. These passes sell out on every tier most semesters, leaving near zero spaces available, along with the unavailability of free street parking. This year, Parking Services increased the price of a parking ticket from $5 to $30, making this a 600% increase on tickets that double in price after two weeks. 

Parking Services has been known to be dreaded by even those with parking passes, as they have been seen to bump cars while giving out tickets. The dread has increased by at least 600% as no one can get ahold of a parking pass, and college students cannot afford to pay $30 for a parking ticket on a University that we are already paying $5k-$14k a semester to attend.

This University has benefited extremely from the Parking Services, rather than the student body. Let’s fix that. Help me make parking for the convenience of students, rather than to put money in the University’s pocket. Help me show Brian Sandoval that the students are people who have financial struggles and that this needs to change.
