Change the Spelling of Rhinoceros to Rhinosaurus

Change the Spelling of Rhinoceros to Rhinosaurus
The Issue
I grew up having a fascination for the mystic and majestic animals that once roamed our earth - dinosaurs. Their grandeur, inherent in their names, always left me spellbound. But why should our present-day beasts be left out from this grand narrative?
In a world where Trex, Brontosaurus, and Plesiosaurus once roamed, why should Rhinoceros not be dressed in the same coat of awe, joining its eponym 'Saurus' to become Rhinosaurus? This campaign is not just about applying some linguistic cosmetics but reinstating the royalty and respect these magnificent creatures deserve.
Rhinoceros, originating from the Greek 'Rhinokerōs,' simply means 'nose-horned.' While it is said that the initial naming was done in consideration of the rhino's primary physical feature, it lacks the grandeur that 'Saurus', translating to 'lizard' or 'reptile', brings with it from the Prehistoric Era. The Rhinos, surviving five mass extinctions, just as their dinosaur counterparts, deserve this shared reverence.
Join us in urging the scientific community and the wider global audience to accept this name change from Rhinoceros to Rhinosaurus. Because respect is in the name and every creature matters.
Please sign this petition to effect the change that our Rhinosaurus deserves.
