Why this petition matters

In kentucky the learners permit age to drive is 16 years old when many 15 year olds are just as able to drive as any 16 year old. There are multiple states that already have their driving permit age at 15 for example Alabama,Arizona,California,Colorado,Florida,Georgia,Hawaii,Illinois,Indiana,Louisiana,Maine,Maryland,Minnesota,Mississippi,Missouri,Nebraska,Nevada,New Hampshire,New Mexico, North Carolina,Ohio,Oklahoma,Oregon,South Carolina,Tennessee,Texas,Vermont,Virginia,Washington,West Virginia,Wisconsin and finally Wyoming. That’s 66% of the United States of America over half of the country. So why should kentucky be part of that 34% that has a learners permit age that isn't 15 years of age? Changing the age would benefit many of kentuckys 15 year olds that have to have their parents drive them to work or take them to school when they could be completely capable of driving themselves.Keeping the legal learners permit age as 16 is only taking away time from parents that need to be watching over another child or getting to work or getting that extra time it takes to get their child where they need to go when their child could be taking themselves
