Change the First-Partner Pokémon in Pokémon Legends Z-A to Piplup and Snivy!
Change the First-Partner Pokémon in Pokémon Legends Z-A to Piplup and Snivy!
The Issue
Dear The Pokémon Company,
With the recent reveal of the first-partner Pokémon for Pokémon Z-A, many fans were surprised and disappointed to see that Piplup and Snivy were not chosen. These two Pokémon are the best fit for Pokémon Z-A, as they align thematically with the strong French influences of the Kalos region. We kindly request that you reconsider and select Piplup and Snivy as the first-partner Pokémon for Pokémon Z-A to better reflect the game's setting and inspiration.
Why Piplup and Snivy?
French Cultural Influence:
Kalos is heavily based on France, and both Piplup and Snivy have strong ties to French culture.
Piplup, a proud and elegant penguin, resembles the sophisticated, aristocratic nature of historical French figures. The penguin’s regal demeanor aligns with France’s association with monarchy and refinement.
Snivy’s design and mannerisms are reminiscent of French nobility and sophistication, often being compared to the elegance and grace of 18th-century French aristocrats.
Serperior = French Aristocracy & Nobility – Snivy and its evolutions are the most regal and aristocratic Pokémon in the series. Serperior embodies the elegance and refinement of 18th-century French royalty, making it the perfect fit for Kalos’ high-class, European aesthetic.
Empoleon = Napoleon & French Leadership – The name "Empoleon" is a direct reference to Napoleon Bonaparte, one of France’s most famous historical figures. A regal Water-type ruler fits perfectly into a region inspired by France.
Aesthetically & Thematically Perfect for Kalos:
Kalos is all about beauty, refinement, and history, and both Serperior and Empoleon embody these ideals.
Their sleek designs, royal presence, and deep ties to nobility make them far more fitting for Pokémon Z-A than other choices.
Keeping Tepig Still Makes Sense:
France is one of the world’s biggest pork producers, making Tepig’s inclusion logical.
This means we already have a great Fire-type choice—now let’s complete the trio with the best Water- and Grass-types for a French-inspired region!
By selecting Piplup and Snivy alongside Tepig, Game Freak would be making a historically, thematically, and aesthetically appropriate decision that enhances the experience of Pokémon Z-A while respecting the Kalos region’s cultural inspirations.
We appreciate the work put into this game and kindly ask you to consider this request. Thank you for your time and for continuing to bring the Pokémon world to life!
P.S. please give the first partner pokemon mega´s you didn´t give the original Kalos first partner pokemon mega´s so please fix that mistace by giving the Z-A first partner pokemon megas
