Change the decision on Tiara Carter being able to coach Geneva Jr Panthers flag cheer.
The Issue
I, Tiara Carter am writing to the Geneva Jr Panthers on my behalf of a decision that was made stating I am no longer able to coach the Geneva Jr Panthers cheerleaders. After reading the letter I feel as though this decision should be reconsidered.
I have been apart of the Geneva Jr Panthers program volunteering my time for the past four years.
My five year old daughter has been by my side each year and completed her first year on the Geneva Jr Panthers flag cheerleading team in which I coached.
As she approaches her second year cheerleading this strengthens my commitment to the GJP cheerleaders’ success.
Every year we have won first place at the FLYFCL cheerleading competition with this previous year winning Grand Champions beating 16 other teams and having the highest score out of all of the other flag teams.
Although, I was not the head coach last year I dedicated my with my team working around the clock coming up with the hello cheer and routine mostly on my own, hosting extra parties and themed practices for the girls. This all created a stronger bond between them and has made me feel strongly that I did my job as a head coach. I love the girls and the team I hoped I would have the opportunity to do again this season before I received a letter stating that I am no longer able to.
My background supports my passion for coaching cheerleading. I was born and raised in Geneva NY. I have been a cheerleader since I was about 7 years old. I cheered for Geneva Jr Panthers myself on their C team. I was also on an all-star team called Panther Extreme All-starz for many years until I was of age to try out for jv and varsity. I was on jv team for 2 years then got moved up to varsity my sophomore year. Being on varsity we won league and sectional titles. After graduating high school I attended SUNY Oswego State University where I also cheered there and traveled to Daytona Beach Florida for the Nationals Cheerleading competition.
Cheerleading is a big part of my life and besides my kids it’s all I know.
I am saddened by the decision that was made upon me no longer being able to do what I love. I firmly believe that my track record, experience, and unwavering dedication make me the most qualified candidate to lead the GJP cheerleading team. I respectfully urge the GJP Board of Directors to reconsider their decision and reinstate me as the cheerleading coach. Your support in signing this petition will send a clear message that the community stands behind me in this opportunity to ensure the continued success and excellence of the Geneva Junior Panthers cheerleading program.
